The Synopsis
Hacksaw Ridge
Desmond Doss, a 7th day Adventist and conscientious objector saved 75 soldiers in Okinawa during the deadliest fight of World War II without firing a single shot (Andrew Garfield), in this remarkable true story. He was the only American soldier in World War II to fight without a weapon on the front lines. He believed that although the war was justified, murdering people was still wrong. As an army medic, Doss braved enemy fire and risked his own life to remove the injured close to enemy lines. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. It was the first time ever it was awarded to a conscientious objector.
